My journey in the legal field started as an Adult Probation Officer Intern while completing my bachelor's degree in psychology. I successfully supervised a high-risk caseload of group violence offenders. Collaborations with law enforcement and community organizations were built to implement the prevention of group violence and the intervention of safety initiatives.
After graduating with honors, I continued my journey as a Court Operations Associate with the Minnesota Judicial Branch. My work in the criminal division was a catalyst for understanding judicial operations, criminal expungement procedures, and meeting justice partners. Following the achievement of my Graduate Paralegal Certificate, I worked in the Office of the Minnesota Public Defenders assisting in the criminal defense of serious felony cases. In addition to casework, I expanded my skills of drafting and filing criminal expungements, eDiscovery extraction, and improving case flow processes.
My success with client contact, resourcefulness, adaptability, and versatility led me to venture into freelance paralegal work and start Lucid Legal Support. I've assisted in over 100 expungements, hundreds of criminal defense cases, and several training and legal operations projects that implemented knowledge, skills, and SOPs to effectively and successfully run solo and small criminal defense firms. I currently work on serious felony matters, criminal record relief matters, commutations, and training legal support staff that enable justice reform initiatives on the state and federal level.
